Meet La Tasha Knighten-Buddle

My name is La Tasha Marie Knighten- Buddle, born and raised in San Francisco, California. I believe a small group of citizens can change the world by starting within in their family and community. I have a great love for people, and I am passionate about working with the families within the community. My overall career goals is to become a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist. For the last sixteen years I have dedicated myself to the Behavioral Science field working with children, families, and youth from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.  

As a result of my career choice, I have served in the following positions at various locations: teacher’s aide, teacher, team educator, individual counselor, group counselor, job coach, trainer, program supervisor, program manager, crisis intervention specialist, and currently I am employed as a Mental Health Wellness Clinician. Throughout my personal experience and career journey I have found joy in my ability to make a difference in the lives of the children, adolescents, parents, and as well as the colleagues I have encountered along the way.

  I worked as a Program Manager/Administrator for 13 ½ years for Community Care Licensed Facility. I am very knowledgeable about how to effectively run a licensed facility. I also work closely with the clinical team to help identify youth needs, behaviors, and create plans to help begin and continue therapeutic treatment. 

While most people end their day when they clock out, I found that the most effective people continue their work after normal work hours. With that said, I volunteer my services within in the Bayview and Fillmore communities for various public and private events. Thus far, my academic background has served me and my community well.

 I received my Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Holy Names University and my Master of Art in Clinical Psychology from Golden Gate University. As pre-licensed therapist I am excited about the possibility and opportunity to develop, creative, provide, and monitor workshops that promote social and rehabilitation skills. I am eager to share with others from a professional stance that a healthy perspective, balance, and accountability are the steppingstones to a strong foundation and are a necessity in all areas of life. I stand by the fact that if we the people are truly going to make a difference in our inner circle and our community we must step up, take a leap of faith, create, find, maintain and impact balance in all areas of life!
